What It Does

• Removes salts, oils, grease and blast residue
• Prevents flash rust for 48–72 hours
  (Often longer in dry conditions above 5°C)
• Leaves surfaces clean and ready for immediate priming
• Suitable for wet blasting, dry blasting and post-blast pressure washing

How to Use

Wet Abrasive Blasting

• Add to blast pot water at 200:1
• Final rinse via pressure washer at 200:1

Dry / Soda Blasting

• Post-blast clean-up via pressure washer at 200:1

Typical Dilution

• 200 litres of water : 1 litre of Rust Inhibitor
  (Dilution may vary depending on conditions)

Important Notes

• Water quality affects performance
• Do not use salt or brackish water
• Hard or poor-quality water may reduce effectiveness

AMS Rust Converter is a fast-acting and highly effective rust treatment suitable for interior, exterior, automotive, industrial, marine and domestic applications. On contact, it chemically converts rust into a stable, non-reactive surface, preparing metal for priming and top coating.

How It Works

AMS Rust Converter converts harmful iron oxide (rust) into a durable iron phosphate, chemically destroying existing rust and leaving the surface in excellent condition for painting once dry. This process significantly extends the life of the metal and any subsequent coatings.

Directions for Use

Rust Conversion (Painting Preparation)

1. Remove oil, grease, paint and loose rust scale
2. Apply only to rusted areas
3. Apply AMS Rust Converter and allow to dry completely
4. Surface will be suitable for painting with an oil-based primer

Important Notes:

• Zinc-rich paints are not recommended
• Wipe off any excess immediately from surrounding metal or paintwork using a damp cloth

Surface Rust & Tarnishing (Cleaning & Polishing)

• Apply using a damp cloth, sponge or fine steel wool
• Wipe off promptly and polish with a dry cloth
• Ideal for restoring tools, bikes, stainless steel, chrome, brass and copper

Avoid contact with:

Vehicle paintwork, Colorbond® surfaces, Dry concrete, Anti-fouling paint, Marble, Anodized or galvanized surfaces
